SHAKE HANDS WITH DANGER
The sound of wind whistling through bones. That’s an apt way to describe the music of Shake Hands With Danger, a new musical force in the Beijing underground rock scene. Combining the sounds of post-punk, rock, with goth and country sensibilities, it’s the kind of band that a whiskey-swilling preacher would listen to while on the run with a boot load of cash he embezzled from his flock.
In short, it’s the kind of music best reserved for sweaty, dingy rock clubs.
Comprised of four musicians from different parts of the globe, Shake Hands With Danger have already won hearts and minds with their demo and live shows in the Chinese capital. There’s two big guitars, keyboards for bass and thumping drums. The songs speak of gunfighters, thieves, beggars, bruisers and giant doses of heartache. It also helps that each track is as hooky as all hell.
Long live the Danger … |
